This quilt is….. interesting. I had a stack of scraps in my closet that I just didn’t love. I pulled them out the other day and cut them up into blocks of 3.5”, 6.5” and 12.5”. This quilt top is the mash up of all of those blocks. It might not look like it, but there is a (sort of) order to this mess.
As I was building the rows I just kept liking this whole thing less and less. Then once the top was completed I laid it out on the floor and decided it wasn’t all that bad. I’m hoping some quilting will help it that much more.
ps. It’s tough to photograph a quilt top on a windy day.
I'm linking up to Finish It Up Friday and Sew and Tell!
I really like the colour combination. It's a subdued, calm quilt.

ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely! But I do get that we don't always love everything we make, especially if we don't totally love the fabric to begin with!
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I was dealing with wind yesterday too, photographing a quilt I made following your strip tube tutorial. You can check it out here if you like: http://craftingdotdotdot.blogspot.ca/2012/04/pure-strip-tube-quilt.html
