Waaaay back in January it was my turn to choose a block for our do. Good Stitches group. Just this week I was able to get the quilting and binding done on the quilt. The quilt block is called “Whirled.” It’s an easy block that sews up quickly. You can find instructions for it here.
I chose a light blue for the backing and binding. Now that’s it’s finished I’m wishing I had chosen something a bit brighter – red or aqua maybe. But the light blue works too, don’t you think?
The quilt measures 48” x 60”. I was just looking back through some photos from earlier this year and I realized this is quilt #14 for 2013. Fourteen quilts completed so far! That’s a new record for me. Last year I think my total was 17 quilts.
Now this one gets shipped off to Threading Hope. Thanks for stopping by the blog – hope you are staying cool this weekend. It’s a hot one here. I hear it’s supposed to break 100 degrees this weekend. Ug!

ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love the binding choice and I love this quilt!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTried this pattern this weekend. Only had 11 fat quarters so it's smaller but not done yet.I'm going to use my left overs for added borders. Easy pattern. Marked my cutting board so I had fast diagonal cuts.
ReplyDeleteOh man while ironing out finished top. 6 small pinwheel show up with small pieces. Going to make them stand out in my quilting down. Love how this is going.
ReplyDeleteDiscovered this pattern in sept. 2020 and plan on making it for a queen bed out of Mens dress shirts that I picked up at various garage sales. The shirts are washed and disassembled and in "stacks". Thank you for offering the pattern free/instructions as free.
