Do you ever just have so much fun that you get a headache from it? I get fun headaches. Bad ones. That was me yesterday. I guess I had just reached my maximum allotment of fun for the week and my head just exploded in pain. Nothing but sleep would help.
In the end I would say that the pain was worth it though. My weekend at the Sewing Summit was wonderful – full of friends, classes, sewing and delicious food. But now it’s Monday again and despite how worn out I am I have to get back to work. There’s laundry and dishes and homework to help with. And more sewing to do.
I took two projects with me to work on during the open sew this past weekend. I got a good chunk of work done but there’s still more to do. This afternoon I was working more with the stack of Florence (Denyse Schmidt). I’m really loving these fabrics. All of them. Usually in a fabric line there are a few prints I love, several that are just ok and then a few I don’t care for at all. Not so with Florence.
My goal for today is to get all of the flying geese made. I’m about 2/3 of the way there.
The pattern I’m using included an option to create an extra little HST (half square triangle) at the same time I’m making the flying geese. As I trim the seam allowance I toss the HSTs into this bin to use later. I’m already looking forward to figuring out something fun to do with those.
I can hear the kids digging around upstairs looking for an after school snack. That’s my cue – off I go!
Perhaps that's why I have a migraine today. Too much fun! Hope you are better. I like your fabrics you are working with. Enjoy
