Fall is just around the corner. I can feel it in the air! I know a lot of people love fall, but I'm more of a Spring kind of girl. Fall is just ok. I kind of tolerate fall. All the pumpkin flavored stuff is great, and I LOVE wearing sweaters, but it just makes me sad when the trees lose their leaves!
I've been working on a fall-ish quilt lately - this is made from my
Hello Washi quilt pattern and a layer cake. I think out of all of my patterns, I've made Hello Washi the most. By far! It's super precut-friendly, using either charm packs, jelly rolls or layer cakes. And I seem to always have some of those on hand.
This is the twin size version, and the fabrics are from an older Moda line called
Late Bloomers. I actually made a
throw size version of this quilt with the same fabrics last year (it lives at my parent's house now.)
You can see more of that quilt here. Isn't it interesting to see how changing the border print can alter the look of the quilt?
You can find the Hello Washi pattern
here,
here and
here - all available for immediate download.
So, are you a lover of fall? What is it that makes people love it so much?
I love Fall because of the cooler, more comfortable weather and the foliage. I am in New England and when the foliage changes it is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI bet it's gorgeous! I'm actually headed to NY this fall and I'm hoping I've timed it just right so I can see some of that famed New England fall color!
DeleteThe gold makes the quilt brighter doesn't it? Love it. I know someone else who will treasure it too. I don't love fall that much - and I live in sweaters. But I know winter is close and that's even worse. Your work is beautiful and you are so talented
ReplyDeleteThanks mom :) I think I prefer the red border on your quilt, but I thought dad would prefer this light brown.
DeleteLove the colors you used in this beautiful quilt! Fall is my favorite season. I love the cool weather and the smells :) and the fall flowers, colors and leaves. Yes, it makes me sad that winter is right behind it, but here where we live, fall usually lasts quite awhile with all the Maple trees showing their splendor....and maybe it is also that I was born in the fall!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Oooh I forgot about the fall smells. Time to get my apple scented candle out again.
DeleteLOVE! Fall. I love Winter too! I get excited to go places in the Fall and we have a pretty heavy line up coming. I don't like to travel in the heat...I just plain don't like heat. I'd love to live where the temp. never goes above 80! :) Pretty colors there in your quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane! Traveling in the heat is hard - I'm with ya there. :)
DeleteFall is okay. It has it's perks. Spring is awesome, but summer is my favorite! Love your quilt. Made that pattern once, many years ago. Always thought I'd revisit it, but never did. Very sweet photo shoot!
ReplyDeleteIt does have it's perks, doesn't it? Summer is my favorite too - there's just so much to love about it!
