Today I get to share with you a my latest finished quilt, and a beautiful new book by Amy Sinibaldi and Kristyne Czepuryk called Rainy Day Sewing.
Rainy Day Sewing is the sweetest book, filled with pretty photos and inspiring projects. I had a hard time deciding which one to make first! (You can find Rainy Day Sewing here on Amazon.)
After some deliberating, I decided to make this sweet baby quilt to give to a friend of mine who just had a little boy.
The quilt is called Sidewalk Quilt and I chose to use some of the oh-so-soft Moda Woven fabrics. Most of these are from the Bonnie & Camille wovens, but there's a couple of Picnic Basket wovens mixed in as well. And they are seriously SO SO soft - perfect for a baby quilt!
The pattern calls for charm squares, but I used yardage instead - use what ya' got, right?
I wanted the background fabric to have some character. So instead of a plain solid fabric, I used one of the Bonnie & Camille Wovens because it has a subtle print, but also some really nice texture. (If you click on the photo you'll be able to see more detail.)
This little quilt measures 48" x 48" and is perfect for newborn snuggles.
You can find Rainy Day Sewing here on Amazon, or here on The Fat Quarter Shop.
