Hello friends - today I'm sharing a quick little project I stitched up last week. It's a new free quilt pattern from The Fat Quarter Shop called Little Loves.
It's just four quilt blocks plus a pieced top and bottom border so I was able to get the top sewn up in just one day.
For the fabrics I chose a few prints from the Laguna Sunrise fabric line.
Laguna Sunrise was designed by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics. The full line includes some other colors - purples, greens, and coral to name a few. But I chose just the reds and this delightful, minty aqua color to use in my quilt. And I love how they look together!
The Little Loves quilt finishes at 22 1/2" x 30 1/2" and it fits perfectly on the wall above my two bookcases - I couldn't decide which one I liked better so I got some photos in both spots.
I think I like it better with the tulips so it currently lives here (photo below) - at least through Valentine's Day and maybe even for the rest of February. We'll see!
For the quilting I used a favorite longarm computerized design called Soho. The binding is one of the red prints from the Laguna Sunrise line.
The background fabric is my favorite white - Moda Bella 98 and since I knew this would be hanging on a wall I just used the same white for the backing fabric.
The Fat Quarter Shop also has kits available although I'm not sure how many are left, so if you want one I'd snag one asap. Just as a heads up, the kit uses different fabrics than what I chose. And if you're a cross stitcher there's also a free Little Loves cross stitch pattern and kit!
