Today I get to share a new pattern with you. I've been waiting a while to spill the beans on this one! This is Modern Beads - a fun little quilt that can be found in a new book available through Annie's.

My Modern Beads pattern uses the same 6" block throughout the whole quilt. I love that at first glance it looks like the blocks are set on point.
For the fabrics I used a Riley Blake basic called Sparkler. It's designed by Melissa Mortensen and it comes in a rainbow of colors....although I chose to use just a few of the blues and greens.
Sparkler colors used (from top to bottom): Navy, Bleached Denim, Lake Blue, Bear Lake, Songbird, Alpine, Jade.
For the backing I found this print at my local quilt shop and it works so well with the colors on the front...it's like it was just meant to be. It's a print called Quilting Circles from the line, Sew Little Time (designed by Danielle Leone for Wilmington)
I thought you might like to see Modern Beads mocked up in other fabrics! This first one is using Elegance - a line designed by Corinne Wells for Riley Blake Designs (find it here from Handmade is Heartmade)
And this second version is mocked up in Enchanted Meadow, designed by Bev McCullough for Riley Blake Designs. Find it here at the Fat Quarter Shop

Lovely design, and I like it in all three colorways. But, the colors you've chosen are very peaceful.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a pretty quilt - and it makes a really serene looking quilt in the Sparkler fabrics!
