Anyone else finding it hard to believe we're almost halfway through July already?
For the past couple of weeks I've been working on a quilt using some new fabrics from Pat Sloan...and I have some to giveaway at the end of this post so stick around!
Spot On is a fun pattern - the finished quilt gives the illusion of circles and rings but it's all straight line piecing.
And even better....those little squares are all made using quick strip piecing techniques so the blocks sew up quickly!
The Spot On pattern includes four sizes: crib, throw, twin, & queen
You can find Bird Song fabrics here from the Fat Quarter Shop
Just for fun I mocked up the Spot On throw size quilt in the other prints from the Bird Song fabric line - The blues and greens are definitely more "me" but I really love this version as well!
It has a pretty, autumn vibe to it, don't you think?

Soft hues of colors, love how you used cream as a background and not white. Really gives the quilt a softer look with that new fabric line
ReplyDeleteFat quarter bundles are my favorite. Smithcindyk@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern with this fabric
ReplyDeleteHello Andy! Your quilt is adorable. I shop at a quilt shop that does not sell fat quarters. Therefore, I buy half yards of all of the fabrics in a line and this means I can usually get two quilts out of it…yeah! My other favorite is a layer cake. I love them just as much and I love the versatility in using them. Have a wonderful day…the sun is shining and the birds are singing here…looks like a beautiful day ahead!
ReplyDeleteHi Andy…I left you a comment about using half yard’s but I don’t think I left my name…I think it came across as anonymous. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is also fat quarters
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet pattern for such sweet fabric!
ReplyDeleteSome days I like fat quarters best, other days 10" squares.
ReplyDeleteI like fat quarters - I feel I have more choices. And more fabric!:-)
ReplyDeleteI love fat quarters too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pre cut is the fat quarter, but 10 squares can come in pretty handy, too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite precuts are layer cakes or maybe charms, I do have a ton of charm packs. Beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteI like the versatility of fat quarters! Dianep100@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI really like your Spot On quilt! It is hard for me to choose which one I like best, the blue or pink version. colbydog.ae@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI just love this fabric line. Hoping to make a quilt from it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty love quilts made of precuts
ReplyDeleteAt the present I love 10" squares. That being said I think the Spot On quilt pattern will be in my future.

ReplyDeleteI do like a 10" square pack of precuts...It gives me a taste of the whole line.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! I love the 2 different color ways you highlighted in the different quilts!
ReplyDeleteI love both color ways in Pat's new fabric. Very calming. Very nice pattern showcasing them
ReplyDeleteI have used the 5 inch precuts to make my last few charity quilts. I like the ease of being able to create beautiful designs to share with the bereaved without spending time cutting. Love the birdsong fabric!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning from Kingwood Texas. Choosing a pre-cut especially for my stash is difficult. Unless I am going to use the fabric right away I by by the yard because 1/2 yard, fat quarters, and smaller are never enough when I choose the ensemble.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely pattern
ReplyDeleteI love fat quarters bundles . They are so much fun to work with .
ReplyDeleteI love all precuts but usually buy 10” squares. I love both versions of tSpotOn in Pats Birdsong fabrics.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pre-cut is a layer cake or maybe charms, I do have a ton of charms. Your quilt is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI really like using Fat Quarters! They lend themselves to so many designs! Donna Tomlinson
ReplyDeleteTomlinsondonna59@gmail.com
If I'm buying precuts, I prefer fat quarters. And yet sometimes I buy those layer cakes so that I get a few of EVERYthing!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite precut is a fat quarter. You get variety and you have more options on block piece size.
ReplyDeleteLove love love these projects. Thanks so much

Love the "Spot On" quilt pattern and it looks fab in Pat Sloan's fabrics. I'm not a "blue" person, so I prefer your second version. My favourite precut is also the fat quarter - a little more to work with than the 10" squares. Bev Browning Babsbrowning@gmail.com
