A few months ago I designed this quilt for Quilter's World magazine and I am excited to now able to share it!
I've always loved giant barn quilts and I used one as my inspiration for that large center star.
Once I had the big star in the middle, I felt like the corners were too empty so I took the same block and scaled it down smaller to fit in the corners.
I like having the two different sizes of the same block to be a contrast to each other.
There's just something so fun about taking a single quilt block and scaling it up to be giant sized. It really makes me want to do more of these.
This quilt is called Spring Dreams and it is featured in the Quilter's World Spring 2023 issue, available now.
This sweet little quilt measures 40" x 40" and only uses 4 fat quarters plus 1.25 yards of background fabric.
I used four prints from the Emma fabric line, designed by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics. It's a really pretty line, filled with prints and colors that are perfect for your Spring sewing projects.
For the backing on my quilt I used an older print that I just had in my stash. The binding fabric is one of the prints from the Emma fabric line.
I thought you'd like to maybe see it mocked up in some other fabrics -
This one uses the fabric line ABC XYZ by Stacy Iest Hsu for Moda Fabrics
If you make a Spring Dreams quilt I'd love to see it! Use the hashtags #SpringDreamsQuilt and #abrightcorner so we can all see what you create!
